Back on the ground the rest of the military bases force come accross what was left of the Virgo's ent after the ground force in ruins. Although the attak force was small they still managed to wipe out a dozen Virgo's and only sustain roughly equall losses themselves.

Okay then men. I think we'll leave those troops to the dolls to chase after. 50 should be more than enough to take them down or at least send them running. I've just had word that the battle in space has finished, They ran away. We need to get back into operation to take care of them next time. Lets go.

The 50 remaining dolls then set off under automated control to hunt down the rebels remaining ground forces not too far ahead.

With that the troops from space were called back down to Earth to rest and prepare for a possible second assault while a large force was being sent up to make sure that the Ryuusei didn't go anywhere. Not to attack but to watch and wait.

And with that Bhaals secritairy left the room in search of one of the days pilots.

(Okay guys. Try some plot now. Talk to each other. Romance. Explore. Find people and things. Create other characters to talk to people. This isn't just for fighting.)

Hello. You are mister Kayl I belive. I have been waiting here to talk with you for quite a while now but the rest of the men around here said that you were "indisposed" and that you had best not be disturbed so I decided to wait out here untill you were finished. I take it that you have things on your mind from the battle.

Looking back down and going through her papers quickly she pulls out one and hands it to Kayl.

We beleive that the enemy carrier used a technology called "Space-Fold jumping". By creating a fold in space anything can move from one point to another instantly. It's like folding a piece of paper. If your on one side when it's folded in half the other side is right next to you.

Looking at him once more she picked another piece of paper from her folder and handed that to him too.

We beleive that the technology was stole from one of our research centers some time ago and they have finally managed to get it working it seems.

Lookign back up at him she could still see him staring at her

Oh I'm so sorry. I got carried away a bit there. My name is Saria. I am one of the Governments assistants.

Pulling her other hand from her papers she offers it to Kayl who shakes it.

Name: Alongside Strong (AKA, The Counselor; affectionately re-named by the others in Nolan Xanderspade's wing.)

Pilot: Nolan Xanderspade

Weapons: Two hidden concussion missile chambers containing three missiles each, 2 plasma cannons that periscope out over the shoulders, and six highpowered laser emittors (plasma cannons and laser emittors periscope out all together and give the Counselor a vague arachnid-like appearance), a charged-shell pistol, a long gauntlet blade, and a powered vibro-masamune sword.

Description and abilities: (Picture attached. Picture is in armour-phase mode.) Black and silver with a large spade painted on the back with the name "Nolan Xanderspade" scrawed in small letters in the middle, directly under the name "Alongside Strong", which is listed there. It also features a small black spade ont he hull for each of its own kills and half of a spade for each assist-kill. Has phasing armour that helps deflect some energy weapons and blocks out most forms of detection such as radar. Phasing armour also sucks in light in space, causing the Counselor to be nearly impossible to see when it is not using any light-emitting weaponry. The Counselor also features boot and back jets to allow it to fly, though it is much more swift in space than in the air. It doesn't have mutlple forms, but it does rearrange part of its armour to become more aerodynamic during free flight.





Nolan watches the image of Bhaal floating above the holoprojector in the briefing area of the hangar. As Bhaal finishes and the image of him dimms and collapses into nothing, the commander of this wing shouts for everyone to head to their dolls. A briefing was given just before Bhaal's speech. Nolan had been given command of 4 automated dolls. Though he is only an officer, this is a more elite wing, which warrants more autmated doll support. Also, the wing commander was quite aware of the battle integrity of Nolan Xanderspade's doll.

Nolan assigns two of the dolls to cover him when he has not assigned them a different order. The other two he assigns to be the wing of the two superior dolls. He also programs in that in the event of one of the superior dolls getting destroyed, that doll's wing is to assume the superior doll's role.

During the course of the battle, one of the automated dolls is destroyed and its lesser, covering wingmate doll is heavily damaged. When the battle subsides and the invading forces stop attacking to regroup and restrategize, I follow those who are headed back to base so that I can get my damaged doll fixed, if possible, as well as examine any damage that might have happened do my precious Alongside Strong. I feel queesily anxious to return, however, as I have succeeded in losing one of the highly expensive dolls and heavily damaging another during the battle. Hopefully my small group's collective 26 kills would be enough curb my commanding officer's disappointment in me.

I'd hate to lose my wingmechs. The battle has been a lot of fun thus far, after all.

Sir. We have had news from Saria that the soldier is on his way here now and should arrive before nightfall.

Excellent. We should be ready in time for tomorrow but for now I have more pressing matters to attend to.

Walking further down the hallway and through the large double doors at the end the Generals await at the table to discuss their next plan of action. With Bhaal seated at the head of the table the generals spring into life.

Welcome sir. We have obtained further reports on the enemy carriers status sir. We have managed to get our spy cameras and satellites close enough to the Ryuusei to determine the damage. It appears to have taken heavy damage in certain sections of the hull. They have taken moderate damage to their weapon systems and have lost nearly half of its turrets but it still posses a formidable threat with the number of weapons and suits remaining.

With the assessment concluded one of the other men began his speech.

Sir we detected the presence of two shuttles entering the atmosphere shortly after the carrier jumped. We assume that they were launched just before the carrier jumped and in the confusion they got away. We believe they joined up with the forces already on the ground and shortly afterwards they disappeared into the mountains. We believe that they have some form of radar jamming device as we have not yet been able to find them.

Picking up the papers in front of him Bhaal begins to quickly read them and asses them quietly leaving the others around the table to wait anxiously.

Gentlemen. The problem is that we were not ready to face such a threat. Most of the military has been disbanded as we were only expecting small-scale uprisings and were not prepared for this. I want all the former soldiers re-recruited and returned to their positions. We should have a better fighting force within a week by my estimation. As for the carrier we have sent up well over two hundred dolls to stand watch over it. If it moves they have been ordered to engage it. Even with its defenses weakened they may be able to destroy these but they should be able to hold them up long enough for reinforcements to arrive.

Pointing to the screen behind them Bhaal uses the remote to turn it on. With the screen showing the mountainous region where the enemy is hiding.

I want that area surrounded with troops by tomorrow night. We can hold them up there for now as the reports show that the shuttles were not very large there should only be a small contingent down there.

Clicking the remote again the map zooms in on a region on the outskirts of the area.

The reports show that one of the shuttles landed in that region. I want it and the other one found and destroyed. I don’t want them flying up to rejoin the others,. While they are separated they are weak and that way we will crush them.

With that the generals left the room to carry out their orders and leaving Bhaal alone to contemplate the situation.

*A loud beeping comes from jehutys intercom that stirs Nemesis from his meditation, He steps away from the river and replaces his boots then walks over to the cockpit and activates the speakers*

"Nemesis here, who is it?"

We have been approached by members of some underground resistance faction sir, after we told them what we were doing here they welcomed us and wish you to come and meet them at their hideout about 5km north east of your location

"Thankyou captain, send the location to ADA ad i will be there shortly. "

*Nemesis leaps into the cockpit and brings jehuty to life, the orbital frame raises to a safe distance and then locks onto its location and speeds away*

ADA : Systems are at full working order. Some superficial damage was recieved from the blast but repairs have been carried out. Metatron energy levels currently at 89%
Nem: Thats good for now. I just hope i will be able to return to the ryuusei to recharge in time, i dont know wether i will be able to find metatron here.
ADA: We are approaching the destination, i do not detect any signs of technology, however this could be due to radar concealement much like the cover we are under.
Nem: Ok ADA, im going in.

*Jehuty lands and Nemesis dismounts, he crosses to a small entrance of a cave and enters cautiously..*

We have seen what we are up against there. We have to remember that we only have one vessel, while they have a whole planet of troops... I have no doubt that they are searching for us now.
While over 100 hundred Dolls were destroyed at the cost of 17 of our suits, we must also remember that during the entire battle, they did not lose a single human being. 27 or our men were kiled and twice that wounded in this first battle.
On a brighter not, our ground forces should be meeting up with the resistance unit shortly. As soon as stealth modifications are made to our remaining shuttles, we will begin landings.

She nods to the Ryuusei's captain

The Ryuusei was heavily damaged in the attack there, and we will not risk the carrier again. We will be heading down to the surface of the moon for extra protection. This will, however, mean that only the upper flight deck can be used. While I'm not very happy abut this, it also means our remaining weapons can be jury-rigged on top of the ship we should be safe for a time.

17 of our suits were taken out in the battle, 5 destroyed outright, 10 damaged beyond repair. While depleting our mecha, this does mean we have adequate spare parts for a long campaign. Also, around us, there is the debris of roughly 23 Virgo mobile dolls. If possible, I would like them salvaged.

Xanderspade, you did fine. I had an entire wing.. twelve dolls at my command. And I only came back with 7 dolls plus my own. Losses happen. Granted more losses are happening than SHOULD against such an uprising, but we're still winning. We're going to win. Just like we always do."

*I look at him, cautious to make sure he's finished speaking before I open my mouth.*

Sir, with respect; you're the commander of this entire mech-suit wing. You took on command of 12 automated dolls because you knew you could handle it. When there are that many automatrons to only one person, increased losses are expected. I don't see how that excuses my failure.

The Commander raises an eyebrow

Commander: "Officer Xanderspade, I'm the one who decided to assign you 4 dolls. Don't second-guess that decision."

The Commander turns and walks away, but looks behind him for a moment to add a comment.

"You made out like a captain today, Nolan. I'll see that your dolls are restored, and you see that our Wing doesn't contribute to any more 'victories' being like this one. You are to be acting leutenant for the rest of this campeign. I've already seen the decision through propor channels."


*I stand there dazed for the moment.. It's only acting leutenant. ..but perhaps if I could manage to do well enough in the next few battles, I might be promoted to the position permanently. I remember to aknowledge the Commander with a sir-sandwich after he's already out of ear shot.*

Sir. Yes, Sir.

*I return to the Counselor and oversee its reloading before preping to head out again. As I enter the cockpit, I see dispach orders scrawled over the screen.*

Dispach to northern montain area at 1500 hours. Coordinate with others in your wing. Various wings are being split up to cover different surrounding areas as part of a scout-and-destroy operation. Further instruction will be given upon launch.

*I stare at the screen for a moment. I can't help but wonder what kind of mission this is going to be. A few soldiers and dolls sent in each direction in hopes of finding the enemy. If there's a nest there, the chances of those who find it surviving any longer than it takes to broadcast word of their location.. is probably not good.*

Besides most people only stay in certain area so for example I wouldn't have a clue how to find the kitchens and the kitchen staff would get lost trying to find the executive offices.

Walking along the two of them finally manage to get to the main entrance of the building. Covered with guards and security gates they walk through unhindered into the main doors with the rest of the building looming overhead.
